A charming Relais in a XIIIth century palace of the historical centre of Florence, a few steps away from the Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi and the Duomo. Located on the third floor with elevator, Relais Cavalcanti provides to its guests an unforgettable panoramic view of the very heart of Florence. In medieval times the palace was a tower belonging to the Cavalcanti’s family, whose famous poet Guido was a close friend of Dante Alighieri and here in 1583 was founded the old Accademia della Crusca that gave birth to the first vocabulary of the italian language. Our rooms overlooking Palazzo Vecchio, Orsanmichele Church and the Palazzo di parte guelfa, are all beautifully hand-decorated and furnished with antiques. Each one, with spacious and elegant private bathroom, is equipped with mini-bar, satellite TV, telephone, internet plug, sound proof windows and air conditioning. Our guests also have at their disposal a cozy charming sitting-room, typical of a private home and a spacious luminous dining-room, both furnished with antiques. Please notice that we are not serving breakfast but there are many characteristic florentine cafés with delicious cakes nearby our home. There is a nice common dining room where you can prepare a cup of tea, chocolate or coffee and have some biscuits, plumcakes and some jam and marmalade too whenever you want.
